Choose between two professional-grade sheens:
Textured Matte: Delivers a soft, muted finish with a refined, understated look that reflects less light, ideal for a subtle, elegant surface.
Textured Gloss: Provides the same high level of protection while adding a touch of sophistication with its gentle semi-gloss shine, perfect for those who want a bit more sheen.
Both finishes deliver exceptional protection against scratches, ensuring your epoxy surfaces stay beautiful and durable over time. If you prefer a smooth, glass-like high-gloss finish, apply a final clear flood coat of epoxy instead of our Ultimate Top Coat.
WATER MUST BE ADDED to mixed product prior to surface application, according to the ratios detailed in our Ultimate Top Coat Mixing Recipe – see Technical Documents.

Preparation –
Wait: Allow fresh epoxy to cure 24 hours before sanding the surface and edges.
Sand: Use a random orbital sander on the epoxy surface until a matte finish is achieved. Sand using 220 grit sandpaper when applying Ultimate Top Coat in Textured Matte Finish. Sand using 320 grit when applying Ultimate Top Coat in Textured Gloss Finish.
Clean: Wipe away dust and clean the sanded surface with 91% isopropyl alcohol and allow it to fully dry. Use contactor masking tape to remove the lint from the 1/4” roller covers. Roll the rollers across the tape until all lint is removed and before incorporating water and mixing the material. For a 40-square foot kitchen, prepare 2 rollers to apply the material wet and 4 rollers to dry-roll and remove excess material.
PRO TIP! The cleaner the surface before applying the Ultimate Top Coat the better the finish will be. Take time to remove all dust from the countertop before rolling on your single layer of Ultimate Top Coat.
Mixing Instructions –
Textured Matte Finish:
Multiply the project square footage by .275 to determine how much Ultimate Top Coat to mix.
Multiply the amount of Ultimate Top Coat needed for the project by .16 to determine the amount of room temperature water to add to the Ultimate Top Coat after mixing.
Measure and mix the material with a flat bottom paint stick at a 2:1 ratio in a mixing cup for 45-60 seconds.
Add in the room temperature water and mix again until a consistent mixture is achieved.
Textured Gloss Finish:
Multiply the project square footage by .275 to determine how much Ultimate Top Coat to mix.
Multiply the amount of Ultimate Top Coat needed for the project by .5 to determine the amount of room temperature water to add to the Ultimate Top Coat after mixing.
Measure and mix the material with a flat bottom paint stick at a 2:1 ratio in a mixing cup for 45-60 seconds.
Add in the room temperature water and mix again until a consistent mixture is achieved.
Application –
Pour: Transfer the fully blended Ultimate Top coat and water mixture from your Measuring and Mixing Cup into a paint pan.
Coat: Use a delinted 1/4” nap microfiber roller to apply the material over the project one section at a time*. Make sure to apply material over the entire surface and then any edges. Take time to get the material as even as possible as you apply the Ultimate Top Coat. Feather out high point lap lines while your Ultimate Top Coat layer is still wet. Product will go on milky white and dry clear. *DO NOT use a sprayer to apply Ultimate Top Coat.
Finish: Switch to your delinted dry roller to remove excess material, using light pressure. When the first dry roller starts to make a sticky noise switch to a new delinted dry roller.
PRO TIP! Keep from over dry-rolling as the material sets up. Attempting to dry-roll once the material is past the 15 minute work time and has become VERY tacky, the roller will pull the material and cause peaks and stippling to occur. Faint lap lines will disappear as the product dries and changes from milky white to clear. The Ultimate Top Coat will be dry to the touch in 8-10 hours and ready for light use in 24-48 hours.
